i never took an internship these past three years, and now that it's my busiest and most stressful year one has been placed at my feet. and even though i'm way too busy for it, i'm a pushover and took it. it's work from home for the most part and would look good on a resume and should be fun, but i still sort of want to curl up and die. various entities are supposedly working on unwrapping the models in crisis core and dissidia with papercrafting in mind, which is all i've ever wanted in my life. not for papercraft specifically (though now that i know it's possible, yes, for papercraft) but just in general, i want those models so badly. i just don't know shit about digging into games, so i sit on my hands and wait for much cooler nerds than i to unlock the underwear drawers of games and create portals into their private areas.

Today was my TA class... so as a teacher assistant I help students if they need anything or have questions. A paper was due today so when a girl came up to me with papers in hand before class started, I expected it to be about that. i lowered the vol of that psychotic crazy noise at the beginning specifically but the volume is relatively low overall, not sure how to fix it without distortion. it's amazing how many more sounds and voices you hear when you're not watching.
*somewhere i have a cassette with exactly this on it, one winged angel with "battle sounds" over it, probably made for me by my dad off of a VHS recording of that battle lol ;A;
i'm at work right now (animation office) and about an hour ago i had a cherry soda explosion so for a while this office looked like a b-movie murder scene. and then voltaire came by. i've never met him before but between his devilish facial hair and my cherry soda blood soaked skirt it's really starting to feel like halloween.

I was dreading the start of October because I have so many things due at the beginning of the month, but now that's they're almost done I'm so happy it's October! But I need to stop thinking "MAN I CANNOT WAIT TO SLEEP IN TOMORROW" because every time I do, I get asked to cover a morning shift. >:(
Buying Kingdom Hearts "Three Five Eight Days Over Two" (really???) wasn't even a conscious decision for someone like me of course, due to being a square whore (a squore maybe)
even so--
--i wasn't THAT excited about KH385e89983days because technically i "don't care" about roxas or the organization, but this game is so fun and endearing i suspect i'm about to get Told. everyone is kind of charming even if they're a huge bitch (or especially if they're a huge bitch- Larxene, you tease! ) and Axel's 358 kinds of awkward mancrushing is pretty adorable. Good dialogue goes a long way! I'm anxious to find out if the whole personality-without-a-heart thing is the point or if this is just a really awkward interpretation of.... having no personality.

Though it's got classic KH gameplay, I can't shake suspicion that if i choose missions in the wrong order, I'm gonna get the "bad ending"

ugh i've got the sads and have decided against going to NYAF tomorrow. instead i'm gonna use the money on color contacts for the cccccllloudd costume i spent literally all day finishing (every friday i just get really miserable and spend the entire day doing something nerd related to cheer myself up-- i don't know why friday, it's my Special Day on dissidia, i should be thrilled)
anyway
MOST costumes i've done in the past would have benefited from blue contacts so this is kind of late in my game, but I don't do very many costumes anymore (like .75 costumes per year at this point) and I probably don't have a lot of costumes left in me (I say, but chances are good I'd cosplay a new Sora design-- again, blue eyes!) and WHAT I'M TRYING TO SAY is i want this cloud to be ~special~
and
anyone got advice/tips on/experience with opaque-type color contacts, especially when used on dark eyes? I have relatively dark brown eyes, and i don't need light blue or anything, just blue enough to be obvious. I'm paranoid I'd spend the money on nice contacts and have them be unwearable for some reason or more uncomfortable than my regular contacts.
otherwise, i accomplished a longtime dream of making all of cloud's accessories-- shoulder pauldron, bracers, suspenders, and belt! and i don't pat myself on the back often so you can believe me when i say i don't think they look awful.
all i have left are decorating the boots, adding some more wefts to the wig (optional but would help a lot) hemming the sleeveholes of my current shirt or buying a new one, and getting some new gloves to stud.
i know that i personally won't make a great older-than-16 cloud, but i'll at least have a nice costume, and i won't be wearing this till halloween so maybe i'll feel better about myself in a month, though i hope not, because insecurity will probably help me get into character 
UNRELATED but i finally saw the scrubs episode where J.D. leaves the show-- oh my goddd that should have been the end of the series. it was really good and really touching and i love scrubs :'( (yeah way more than house but i still want to catch up on house)

i had a meeting with my thesis advisor a few days ago and she likes my story but advised me on some small changes that will have a big effect...so i'm stressed out about revising plot points without changing too much visually. i hate trying to write stories, i'm really bad at them, and want nothing more than to get into the drawing. ;A; i wrote the story thinking "this, this, and this will be awesome to animate" and tried to form a story around it, as i usually do, which is a bad idea.

o-oh god any of my dissidia bros keeping up your consecutive day count and getting slandered by Mognet for it?? I check Mognet every day (honestly I'm just waiting for a quiz about ff7 because so far most of the questions are ridiculous) and at first they seemed impressed that i was so dedicated, but when I hit 20 consecutive days one of the moogles told me I need to go outside or go on a date. i-i didn't expect this kind of judgment from moogles...

this is super rare, but i actually feel kind of depressed today. :'( it's nothing specific so i'm not posting about that, but you know how you feel shitty and one little thing leads to another and then you break ANOTHER goddamn finger nail (third in one month) and suddenly you've been in bed playing ff7 for four hours wishing you were dead. ~ONE OF THOSE DAYS~

I forgot to mention it here, but I am back in school (and NYC) now, for about a week. I had an okay first week, but i have more work hours than class hours. work is good because i have a different kind of loan this semester and have to pay on it every month, but it's bad because this is my thesis year and i got shit to do. i have a lot of off hours too, but i have poor time management as you may have gathered from the above paragraph, or from knowing me.
uhh i also have poor money management because i REALLY want to buy a ps3 now that they're a completely reasonable $299. ;A; if they were backwards compatible with ps2 i would have bought one already, but right now i'm trying to decide if i want to get a ps2 first or what.
i think my world is off-balance because i have mismatching action figures. (kh seph, no kh cloud)

...........yeah, Jerry and I got a cake to celebrate finishing Final Fantasy V. "A CHORE OF A GAME" was our pet name for it, but really FF5 is not a chore, black label FF5 Anthology for the PS1 when the PS2 and PS3 have save glitches and our PS1, the only system that can successfully play such a haphazard port, is failing........... is a chore. Game freezes before and after battles mostly, often accompanied by creepy graphical glitches to let you know a game breaker was coming. It took serious dedication but WE DID IT. and it was worth it, because FF5 is awesome, and now we're allowed to play as Butz in Dissidia. WE EARNED IT.
~SPEAKING OF DISSIDIA~ of course it came out in America yesterday, my bro and I both got a copy with the gamestop and best buy preorder items. It's way more fun in English for all the game mechanics I was missing out on (oh and story), but I'm finally ready to admit I just don't like Cloud's dub voice. I TRY, I TRY SO HARD TO LIKE STEVE BURTON but every time i hear him go SEFFERAWTH i just cringe and i don't know. i don't like it. Just FYI, the English Dissidia PLAYABLE DEMO is up for download on Playstation Network! (under 'new releases') a warrior takes sword in hand, clasping a PSP to his heart
demo characters: Onion Knight, Cecil, Terra, Cloud, Sephiroth
I love Seph's voice and they fixed one of his annoying moves to not suck anymore-- Cloud is kind of laughable but his Fire-casting "burn." gets on my nerves and so do some of his lines. idk if he's actually saying this stuff in original japanese or not, but can we please not give whiners anymore reason to toss around the E-word in regards to Cloud >:(
tallon_v and i have started a team play-through of FF Anthology version Final Fantasy V (5) (five) (IIII) (五) (butz klauser's Big Day)
we have our specific reasons for this, but lets cast those aside and say it's just to spite FF6 (it's not though, yuushi, honestly it's not!)
the class system owns, but since all we got is the Anthology version, we had to bust out the PS1 to play it, since on the PS3, black-label FF anthology freezes 50% of the time you try to save. cool! go ahead and tell me i should buy the cartridge, i'll never be oldschool enough for you bloodthirsty motherfuckers
also i think i've said this 1000 times but i REALLY, TRULY have my story for my thesis TOTALLY worked out as of this morning, and i got a jittery feeling when i wrapped it up (in my head) so i think it's really done. the problem now is finalizing the storyboards before those scenes slip out of my brain.

well hello! I have returned from my awesome visit with machu_pichu and her husband, I can sum up my trip with a few words: GAMES, SHOPPING, CENTIPEDES, DOGS
on my last day, Carrie and I decided to spend it doing something important and meaningful and I'm here to share the fruit of our labor!
fortunately we share a love of photographing action figures, and luckier still, one of us is actually good at photography! (hint it is carrie)
we set up a small studio and went to town on these bad boys and girls, taking turns arranging the figures and snapping the pics with her dad's bajillion megapixel camera. SINCE THEY ARE SO DETAILED I left them fairly high-res, a lot of these images are kind of large and there's over 30 of them so some of them are ~thumbnailed~~

HELLO POSTING FROM machu_pichu'S SPIDERY BASEMENT and most definitely consuming 17 lbs of spiders per night and waking up for random encounters with them and even if most of those random encounters occur in my dreams, the flailing and slapping at invisible arachnids is real

AWESOME
well it was "free" in that all we had to do was some volunteer work for the staff for a couple hours, collectively our tasks were monitoring a guitar hero contest, signing people up for the costume contest (this owned, most of the costumes were little kids with sonic facepaint or a luigi hat, but there were some uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh well some of them eased the pain of not attending otakon as i still got to have catty silent laughs for myself), and getting people to enter a drawing for a free PSP (one guy was like "A PSP? NO THANK YOU" motherfucker didn't even want a FREE ONE daaaaamn) the "work" was very fun and our seats were very good.
( i got to see one winged angel live, a long-time dream of mine, was it everything my tiny beating heart could have desired? find out under this cut. also the rest of the concert and my trip so far )
