AWESOME
well it was "free" in that all we had to do was some volunteer work for the staff for a couple hours, collectively our tasks were monitoring a guitar hero contest, signing people up for the costume contest (this owned, most of the costumes were little kids with sonic facepaint or a luigi hat, but there were some uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh well some of them eased the pain of not attending otakon as i still got to have catty silent laughs for myself), and getting people to enter a drawing for a free PSP (one guy was like "A PSP? NO THANK YOU" motherfucker didn't even want a FREE ONE daaaaamn) the "work" was very fun and our seats were very good.
( i got to see one winged angel live, a long-time dream of mine, was it everything my tiny beating heart could have desired? find out under this cut. also the rest of the concert and my trip so far )

oh god my life is worthless this summer
i can't believe i've been home almost a month, as i have accomplished very little that isn't a video game. i don't feel TOO badly about it though because if my life goes as planned this will be the last time i can ever be this rREELAAXXED DD ... .. . ...
anyway hey hoo i cut my hair a bit ( no make-up so photoshopped wesker sunglasses instead )
who doesn't wish they were wesker.
it's not a huge change but it's probably the shortest my hair has EVER been as I can't even put it in a little weird rat tail anymore.
i'd better get some thesis work done this week. if by thesis i mean play persona 4. (i took recommendations into consideration, but ultimately the decision rested on this being borrowed and therefore costing me nothing) and by play i mean get really pissed off because the voice-over option KEEPS TURNING ITSELF BACK ON and then give up and go back to FF9. i don't think the dubbing is awful, but it reads so slow and i hate cutting them off.
i don't think the gross amounts of time I've spent with FFCrystal Chronicals: My Life as a King* lately has anything to do with it, but I'm getting crazy excited for FFCC: Crystal Bearers. it's just so unexpectedly sexy and, according to that clip, "inspired by grand theft auto". i want so badly for that to mean all kinds of things it could never, ever mean.

every E3/TGS i have two wishes: new Fumito Ueda game, announce FF7 remake. at least I got one of those this year! The Last Guardian footage at the Sony conference seriously choked me up. ;A; I love how even the lighting is a signature. I shit myself again when they announced FFXIV

I watched most of every press conference except Konami because it wasn't live, and Square Enix because it wasn't a press conference. I let myself get very excited over what ended up being a live blog from some G4 guy's iPhone of a FFXIV Q&A, which SE apparently called last minute to clear up Sony's claims on exclusivity for the MMO. questions-- AS THEY HAPPENED-- such as "WHY WOULD SOMEONE CHOOSE FF14 OVER OTHER AVAILABLE MMORPGS." groundbreaking. (that said, i'll probably play ffxiv when it comes out)
E3 wasn't entirely disappointing, at least we got some pantwetting in game footage from Assassin's Creed II. and who isn't excited about whatever the fuck the wii vitality censor is supposed to be. not me!

rofl UMMM that contest I posted about a few days ago, I wanted to update and tell you guys that I won, but I can't tell if I did or not. Percentage-wise I did, but the site hasn't e-mailed me yet even though it ended Thursday night, and there are a couple comments accusing me of "botting" the votes, like I have any fucking idea how to do that. I think you guys are just too awesome and voted for me too hard and now it looks like I cheated? I don't know rofl. ANYWAY THANKS FOR YOUR VOTES ♥ (unless one of you botted my votes, in which case ugh please do not do that.)
I saw wolverine and star trek over the weekend with my family, wolverine was ~hot~ but not a great movie (not a bad movie, but keep in mind i don't know anything about x-men) and star trek was ~hot~ and was a GREAT FUCKING MOVIE (and i do know some stuff about star treks). the best part of the movie was the battle on ice planet hoth.
I'm having a nice time being home, my bed is soft, the food is good, finally have time to play console games and draw fanart. CAN'T COMPLAIN~ (since I'll probably post about them later, I'm playing FF9 and Resident Evil 5 at the moment - RE5 is so super fun but oh my god it REALLY IS THAT RACIST. and chris redfield is a gross beast. I just got back from the Dusty Film Festival Awards Ceremony where I accepted a grant for $3000 from the National Board of Review in front of a big audience of distinguished fellows and classmates. Kevin Klein (!!) was there handing out awards to film students, while Tom Sito handed out animation student awards. I had to give an acceptance speech, and though I didn't stutter or whatever my mouth was dry and I felt like a dope (i am a dope) but managed to get out my thanks.
I skipped the after party because i'm supposed to be packing instead of writing LJ entries.
i still can't get over seeing the name of my film on the letter they handed me, and thinking that something i made myself was seen and liked by the right people and i won something for it. also really enjoying the fact that my film is called "reward", the subject of the film being bags of cash, and they're giving me money for it. Even the final amount of GP on the wanted poster in my film was a somewhat prophetic 300,000. fuckin sweet, for real. i'm so excited ;A; follow your dreams wrestling anime men ;A;
the past few days have been awesome, jisuk had a ~FABULOUS~ dinner party at her new apartment. home cooked "sopranos cookbook" italian food, and i got to high-5 a dude with a vagrant story tattoo, that's a good time. the next couple days kanna lets me hang out with her friends and there was kenka, dallas bbq, thehenchcroft shows up for CHINATOWN (WITH PORK BUNS AND SOME BADASS BOOTLEGS and holy shit i got to see with my own eyes the cloud black ps3 box ::looks at grant check:: ...), and the Dusty Film screening (animation night, not film night lol) which BLEW MY FUCKING MIND in most ways. The films that were great were so so incredible and I'm so proud of my friends and people i wish were my friends. there were also some films that were hilarious. When everyone gets their shit up on youtube i'll link them all and you can decide which ones are awesome and which ones are "awesome". (no, i'll label them)
anyway, with this grant and having seen what those seniors are capable of i am SO PUMPED to start my thesis. also if i don't get nominated for a dusty next year i'll punch myself in the eye for being so worthless.
lmao, i entered another contest this week, but i won't say what it is unless i get picked for voting. this is a much less prestigious contest.
ok i'm moving tomorrow so time to go pack :'C

now the only hardship i have to face in the coming weeks is MOVE OUT. i HATE MOVE OUT. i spend all year dreading it. ughhhhh
now that school is over i get to chill for a week waiting to accept my grant, focus on planning for my thesis film and let's be honest, tons of advent children complete and case of whoever fanart;;;
and over the summer, other projects i've had in mind for ages, half of a professional nature (a website, a reel,) half of a nerd nature (i'm a loser, i deserve to die of mako poisoning)
and once i'm at home there are video games to play, that is my intention
